For those who have yet to step up to board the interportal of the Grove Bomb, look for us this year, the only art car yet (rumored to be) talller than the Temple!

Because in Portland? We damn do it. We're damn bringin' it! Here's how you can, too.

The Mobile Groove Bomb is a city bus which has seen the alkali of the Black Rock the last three years, but this year we are making it celebrant-friendly with multiple dance stages, safe ladders and an awesome propane cannon w-a-a-a-y the hell up there, just for fun. We are also for fun making a 13- month, August to August (starts with August 2008) calender as a fundraiser to make sure these plans can all happen.

If you know the Groove Bomb or any of its crew, get on the bus and include yourself in our calender! We're offering listings for birthdays, anniversaries, events, and other special days of your imagining at these prices:

birthdays (Sir Such and Such, b. 1972) .................. $5
anniversaries (Marjory and Rain, m. 2003) ................$7
events (Flipside, Dark Skies, SOAK, etc) ................$10 and up

and we are offering these calenders at a pre-sale price of $15.
When we have them in hand the price will be $20.

Slots are filling up! people are buying birthday weeks, throwing down for all manner of notable dates and immortalizings. We go to the printer June 13th, so this is a fast-track situation. Imagine your pride as you step on the Bomb later this summer, knowing your early dollars have not only helped get this mover to the playa FOR you to step on, but that now hundreds of folks can begin to budget for your birthday! It's just a win-win-win.

NOW. I've appropriately asked around, considering this is essentially a call for dollars. I did not want to dirty up this forum (actually though: could such a thing even be possible?) with commerce, but considering this is a non-profit venture aimed at what really will add to our August, I went ahead and posted here. Hey all,
I have been getting a few emails from our tribe wanting to help and ALOT of burners waiting for the yearbook.
So, Hers is where we are
Don in L.A has all of the pictures, Swoon(molly) in Seattle is on point as project manager and Doug J11 is going to throw up a website folks can download from.
I , unfortunately, am swamped for the next 30 days which is when this must come out because I am going to put in a new request for land soon.. So, we need a few folks to step up and help out w/ this.
But i will come back to burner life in time for camp planning and such.
I think all that is needed is a few hours of typing of playa names and syncing them with the pics so we can finish. I think if 4 or 5 people ended up taking a few hundred , then we would be fine.
Please please help us
Contact Swoon, don or Doug to pitch in.
Don, how many pics do we have ? Did you edit many of them out or did you throw one in for each person no matter how it turned out?
Swoon, where are we? how can people help?
I know tyris was just asking the other night and Adrian.

While we are at it, how much land should I get for this year?

2007 Yearbook Comin' atcha!

Hey all ye Yearbookers and those who love us -

Seattle Swoon here to wish you well and flourishing (scheming for the American Dream, I hope!)

I want to put it out there that the 2007 Yearbook has not been forgotten; the load has since shifted and with Don's (and whomever else's) collaboration, we hope to have a web version up as soon as we're able - within a month is my projection.

I think the sorting of photos is best done by one or two people - it's a lot of work, but better to keep it all together to minimize risk of Uh-Ohs; however, we would love for our web-savvy campers to pipe up to get this launched on-line for everyone to enjoy. If this speaks your name, send me a message!

I'll keep y'all posted when we are in need of specifics - in the meantime,

Bm themecamp paperwork

Currently I am working on the paperwork that is due May31st
I am estimating the camp at 50-60 people
so far...4 public interactive areas
1. shooting range- scott and don
2. what will you bring table - kira
3. a public chill area - 3 carports tried together witr- simple
4. a bar or two

the idea is to be VERY very low toil and only basic material and decorations.
I woul love us to focus on participating in burning man this year and not have a "working man

here are A FEW areas to be looked at for the immediate paperwork deadline
how many rv's?
what type fo domes/tents
any art projects??
public kitchen or take care of your self?
A group shower??
power- I have access to a few generators but we couldend up with placement on the grid lines.

please give feedback or I will make this all up and wing it:)

hey kids,
So this year Black Rock Yearbook will become its own theme camp!
40,000 burners,10 photogs, 3 stocked bars , 2 blue screens...what could go wrong?

I will be submitting theme camp paperwork next week and requestign place ment near black rock boutique..???
any other placement ideas, I like the idea of folks coming in after they get costumed at the boutique

Tom Petty this Sunday

I'm looking for a 4th person to come along with me and my boyfriend and my friend to go see Tom Petty this sunday at the Hyundai Pavillion. We are getting tickets off of craigs list and it's easier to buy 2 pairs than 3 tickets. The seats might not all be together, probably 2 here and 2 there. Basically I'm looking for a real Tom Petty fan who wants to see the show and isn't too picky about who they are going with. Plus the seats we're looking at are all in the orchestra section and are frickin fabulous. The price for a ticket is about $70-85, so let me know if you want go rock it this sunday!
